If storks could deliver!

I imagine a world where the things we need are available close to home.  And when we cannot easily find them in our neighbourhood, they get delivered inexpensively.  Inexpensive for our pocketbooks AND for the environment.  It won't be a stork, but maybe a drone.

At Fawn and Doe Baby Co we search out local suppliers.  If we can’t find ‘essential baby products’ in Canada we look to the United States.  Only as a last resort, do we purchase products from countries beyond North America. Packaging and shipping costs add 30-50% to the cost of products.

Last week one of our Canadian customers paid three times the price of the product.  It distressed us to serve our customer with such a high postal rate.  Everything is more expensive today, than just six months ago.  Supply shortages and availability of essential products affect delivery times and of course the retail cost.

One of the things we can do for new parents and those who support new parents is to curate clothing and accessories that we know from experience, new moms need and will use within a few months.  We have selected ‘essential’ clothing and products that moms with babies who are 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and year old’s grow into and use within a few months.  In this way, shipping and packaging is significantly reduced.

These packages cannot be carried by a stork…but it is the most economical and environmentally friendly way we can serve our new moms!
